Native American Day (WHEC TV)

I Created a Flyer for Native American Day and it was featured on this WHEC clip at 1:37 on the clip.

I received permission from the person who created the scene of the long house to be used as the background in this flyer and I felt that this flyer design was worth the time and design to creative on the poster and it was a great design that the Historical Society of Greece, New York was thankful in the design and construction of the flyer and the facebook cover photo.

2013 New York Tax Return Issue Revisited

Have you ever wonder why there was a major problem with last years New York State Tax returns, and returns were taking a long time to get processed?

Have you ever considered it to be your fault when it came to the issues of your New York State Tax Returns?

Here are some startling facts about the processes that go on when a site that is to scan your Tax Returns in to Database of Tax Returns.

Grommets
When the taxes are received from the mail they are delivered to a place to scan and index. Once the documents are received they are to be prepped into folder or what ever filing system the documents are transported in this includes removing staples
Staples
, grommets
, and/or anything else that is holding the papers together then put back in to the folder this is done one folder at a time so the files are not mixed up and put with the wrong folder.

Next the documents are of to be scanned by a scanning operator this is where the an issue may arise when trying to understand the batching system based on each job that comes from a government office. Each scanning job has a way the records must be scanned in most of this is done as one batch per box and in that batch each document is a folder and the numbering for the batch could be the box number or Starting folder and Ending folder number in the box. Then the scanning operator indexes the First Document and this could be index like these examples:
Indexing Structure

  1. File Number-Last Name_First Name,
  2. Case Number-Last Name_ First Name
  3. Case Number, Last Name, First Name, Date of Birth
  4. Just A Case Number
  5. Or other documented index field.
The Scanning Operator scans all the records at a predefined setting most of the scanning jobs is at 200 dots per inch.

Once all the scanning is done it moves on to the Indexing station this is where most of the problems can occur due to each persons handwriting it makes indexing the files tricky because not every one can read each persons handwriting if somebody cannot read cursive handwriting then that could cause a type in the indexing software this could be Kodak Capture Software, DocuWare or another OCR Indexing software package. Let’s say that you write your name in cursive maybe some who does not read cursive could make it out or lets say your some of I’s look like 1’s and O’s look like 0’s this could cause issues or maybe the person who is transcoding it in to the computer maybe has dyslexia or could have it where they transpose the number.

Posible Indexing Structures
File Number-Last Name_First Name80-0648-Smith_John
Case Number-Last Name_ First Name98-01234-Smith_John
Case Number, Last Name, First Name, Date of Birth97-15201, Smith, John , 02/15/1957
Case Number97-64452 or 98752 or 212A

After the batch is completely index is moved on to Quality Control this is where a person is to check over the Indexers work and make sure it is what is on the file is in the computer along with making sure all the pages were scanned in and counted for and then it processed once all the images are in there proper position and ordination to read from left to right up to down based on the way the text is displayed on the screen.

Well when Joseph D. Morelle along with other Assembly Members and Senators of said this is was a problem using New York State Industries for the Disabled
well he along with the rest of the Assembly Members and Senators were wrong this had nothing to do with that agency at all but with average New Yorkers and your handwriting caused the overtime in the first place if more of you New Yorkers take advantage of E-Filing your Tax Returns there would not have been an issues with your returns. Since the running of this story has had a Major snowball effect on New York Industries for the Disabled some of the contracts that NYSID has give to Agencies Like Rochester Rehabilitation’s OneSource in jeopardy because of one NYSID site. Now because of that issues I was let go because that has not been able to get any contracts to due because of the Tax Returns issues last year. So now I wondering why New York State Industries for the Disabled did not return the calls from the media and could have said what I have stated here in this story from my own viewpoint on this issue but they choose not to that really hurt its partnered agencies throughout New York State and at least four of the New York State Industries for the Disabled partners are located in Rochester these are the ones that I can think of they are

Rochester Rehabilitation’s OneSource

CDS Monarch

LAICO Industries,

Arc of Monroe County’s ArcWorks.

Some of those sites are having to cut positions because of lack of getting bids from Local, County, and State Contracts to do work for them and pushing them back to For-Profit business that don’t always put the Customer First and produce quality work.

WHS and Current Plans

Stardate: [-28] 03840.00

Currently modifiing windows home server and adjusting what files are installed on the server to share out to the desktops and other files on the network. i love how the home network is setup with the windows home server at the center of the network. working transfering putting all my iTunes content on the WHS for Home Network Access. also upgrading a desktop later to windows 7. but i am currently pissed that the xBox 360 kicked the Red Ring Bucket the week after it ended warrenty on the fix for it which i think they do away a charge of 99.99 if it is a known issuse it should be cover for life and free of charge for the life of the system.
